After working all week in a nice AC controlled office, coming to the farm is a good attitude adjustment and reset. Frankly, I love being able to get outside and get a good sweat in. Spending all this time cooped up in an office chair, starring at a computer screen is probably killing me faster than any bad habit I may have. Feeling the sweat on my back along with some heavy metal blasting in my ears as I destroy the grass smothering our Christmas trees is energizing. However, after the mowing is done comes the weed eating.

Lets just say, 2 hours of mowing is nothing compared to the 4 hours of weed eating around 400 trees. It's not the time that is so much the killer here, but the fact that you have to be so careful not to wack a tree in half. This takes time and patience, both I seem to always be short on. Needless to say I get through it with the help of my amazing wife and son only to do it again two weeks later.

I have some ideas to make this better next year. More to come on that solution later.
